Who We Are
Our mission and vision flow from our identity. Christian imperatives in the Scripture are preceded and produced by Christian indicatives. In this light, we are “C-B-C.” We are . . .
Called by Christ (saved).
Compelled by Christ (sent).
Consumed by Christ (sanctified).
Therefore, it is our mission to make and mature disciples who multiply!
Therefore, it is our vision to take God’s gospel into God’s world by God’s Spirit for God’s glory!
The Mission Expanded
Three key words – make, mature, multiply. Evangelism (make). Discipleship (mature). Growth (multiply). Our mission is not complete until the disciples we make are themselves making disciples. Our church must multiply, spiritually and numerically, by personal disciple-making, church planting and partnering.
The Vision Expanded
To take God’s Gospel into God’s World by God’s Spirit for God’s Glory.
The gospel is God’s good news about how He, a Holy God, has made a way for unholy sinners to be forever right with Him through the righteous life, atoning death, powerful resurrection, and vindicating ascension of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s Gospel commands all people to repent of sin (renounce and turn away) and believe (trust) in the Person and Work of Christ Jesus alone for forgiveness of sin, righteousness before God, and everlasting life. God’s Gospel is revealed to us in the Word written down (the Bible) which testifies to the glory of the Word-made-flesh (Jesus Christ).
We take God’s Gospel into God’s World . . .
- By personal evangelism – sharing the good news with neighbors.
- By missions – sharing the good news with the nations, sending and supporting missionaries to the nations.
- By God-fearing, Christ-centered lifestyles.
- Because making and maturing disciples who multiply is our God-given mission.
- Because as Creator and Redeemer, Jesus deserves to be glorified and worshiped by all peoples everywhere – This is His World!
By God’s Spirit . . .
- By prayerful dependence upon God who empowers, enables and encourages us by His indwelling Holy Spirit.
- Because only God can save sinners.
- Because apart from Jesus Christ we can do nothing!
For God’s Glory . . .
- This is the great “why?” of the Church, the Cosmos and the Christian life.
- We must do everything we do for the glory of God!

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
As a Church, we take membership seriously. Our Church Covenant represents the commitment we make as members of CBC. We have provided a copy of it below:
CBC Covenant
Having, as we trust, been brought by divine grace to repent of our sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to submit to His Lordship, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aid, solemnly and joyfully renew our covenant with each other.
We will gather regularly to Worship God in spirit and truth, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together.
We will walk together in Discipleship and brotherly love, as becomes the members of a Christian Church devoted to learning the way of Christ in the Word together. We will exercise an affectionate care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully admonish, entreat and restore one another as occasion may require.
We will Serve one another and our community in love. We will rejoice with each other’s joy, and weep with each other’s sorrow. We will endeavor with tenderness and sympathy to bear each other’s burdens. We will work together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry in this church, as we sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
We will seek, by Divine aid, to Live a holy life in the world, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and remembering that we have been buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk in newness of life. We will seek the salvation of our family and friends, and will share the gospel with others in love.
We will Pray for ourselves and others. We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
When we move from this place or sense we must depart from this local fellowship, we will discuss this in advance with our pastors, and as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
