Corydon Baptist Church exists to be Consumed by the Glory of God in the Gospel of ChristIn short, we are "Consumed by Christ."

Our mission is to be a Christian Family of Disciple-Making Disciples. This is what we are called, commanded, and enabled to do by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

While we are involved in many good things in our community and world, we try by God's grace to focus our time and energy on spreading the good news of salvation and forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ.

At CBC, we summarize our purpose and mission with 5 words:

WORSHIP

We commit  to regularly and consistently gather to worship together.

DISCIPLE

We commit to be discipled and make disciples.

SERVE

We commit to serve Christ, one another, and our community using our spiritual gifts and our natural abilities.

LIVE

We commit to live a life of pursuing holiness by grace. We commit to share the gospel and be a good Christian witness in our deeds.

PRAY

We commit to being a people marked by prayer, corporately and individually.

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

As a Church, we take membership seriously. Our Church Covenant represents the commitment we make as members of CBC. We have provided a copy of it below:

CBC Covenant

Having, as we trust, been brought by divine grace to repent of our sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to submit to His Lordship, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aid, solemnly and joyfully renew our covenant with each other.

We will gather regularly to Worship God in spirit and truth, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together.

We will walk together in Discipleship and brotherly love, as becomes the members of a Christian Church devoted to learning the way of Christ in the Word together. We will exercise an affectionate care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully admonish, entreat and restore one another as occasion may require.

We will Serve one another and our community in love. We will rejoice with each other’s joy, and weep with each other’s sorrow. We will endeavor with tenderness and sympathy to bear each other’s burdens. We will work together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry in this church, as we sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.

We will seek, by Divine aid, to Live a holy life in the world, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and remembering that we have been buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk in newness of life. We will seek the salvation of our family and friends, and will share the gospel with others in love.

We will Pray for ourselves and others. We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

When we move from this place or sense we must depart from this local fellowship, we will discuss this in advance with our pastors, and as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
