Thermostats
Facility thermostat info
In Dec 2023 we installed (5) new 'smart' automatic thermostats. Not only can they be controlled via WiFi, the old thermostats weren't very programmable and had to be manually switched between heat and cool, and therefore had to be manually checked before and after events. We continue to use three preset temperature levels across the facility.
- Comfort - when people are in the building, heat/cool 69°, 72°
- Eco - when no one is in the building, heat/cool 56°, 82°
- Sleep - for worship room to maintain instruments, heat/cool 62°, 78°
Current scheduled control is set to:
- Sunday mornings - all thermostats set to a comfort level from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Tuesday afternoons - upstairs thermostats set to a comfort level from 1:00 to 6:00 pm
- Wednesday afternoons - upstairs thermostats set to a comfort level from 1:00 to 8:00 pm
Otherwise, they are automatically set to Eco mode, except worship room is set to Sleep mode.
Control the smart thermostat
You may have to manually adjust a thermostat for non-standard events. Nest smart Thermostats don’t have a touch screen. Use the touch bar on the right side to control thethermostat. Swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.
- Tap the touch bar to bring up the menu.
- Swipe up or down to select an option.
- Tap the touch bar again to confirm your selection.
In most cases the thermostat setting will return to the normal schedule after your event. If you need to turn the 'Fan On' to circulate air, you must manually select and turn on a Fan Timer and select the amount of time you want the fan to run.
Multi-Purpose room system
The (new) large multi-purpose room upstairs has a hybrid system. The area closest to the large window is controlled from the smart thermostat in the lobby. The area closest to the outside windows however is controlled by the unit above the windows using the remote control on the wall by the fire exit door. The remote must be pointed at the unit for it to work, but is fairly intuitive.
- Turn the unit ON using the big button
- Select the mode (Cool will turn the power light Blue, Heat will turn the power light Orange)
- Select the desired temperature, or other settings
You MUST turn that wall system OFF when you leave using the remote Power button
